A great experience to explore the Italian language and culture through the magical and unexpected world of dyeing with plants. It is a unique experience, a real travel from the cultivation of plants to the dyeing of yarns and piece of clothing with the world-renowned dyer. This ancient dyeing art testifies to the vitality of a world of beauty, elegance and craftsmanship that deserves to be known and practiced!

Programme

• Arrival at the Agriturismo and short visit to the facilities and short botanical-mythological walk in the immediate countryside
• Brief introduction to Italian words linked to the art of plant cultivation, colors and sustainable clothing
• Introduction to the tradition of the ancient dyeing art, from the cultivation of dyeing plants, in particular the Waldplant (Isatis tinctoria), already in the past widely cultivated in Le Marche, from which a powder dye very concentrated and stable is extracted: the indigo
• Demonstration of the dye made and illustrated by the dyer, one of the main expert in this field, to learn the secrets of dyeing plants, their properties and preparation of natural fibers and tissue, and take the first steps in the hand-dyeing (The dyeing of a piece of clothing is the most impressive step of the demonstration, especially for the indigo dyeing, as the color changes with the exposure to air)
• Hand-dyeing activity: every participant has the chance to dye a silk or cotton handkerchief with the support of the dyer
• Italian language and culture course (1h of interactive lesson with the Italian teacher affordable for beginners too)

Option: Lunch with Tasting Menu of local and organic products of the Agriturismo
